we’re back down at The English Lounge this coming Friday with our next Freshly Sliced gig

this week we will be joined by the fantastic talents of Mike Grubert Ayanam Udoma Music and Hayden J Barlow – it’s gonna be an absolutely boss one. it’ll be our only gig for the month as the venue is closing for a refurb so come on down and enjoy a lovely night of live music!

Just The Crust 01/11/21: David Shurr – Under The Hood ☀️

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new album from David Shurr “Under The Hood”! 🥪

a full-length album of twelve songs, this album truly shows off Shurr’s fantastic ability as a songwriter and an artist. 😊 blending psychedelic atmospheres with folky and indie genres, he’s able to create his own imprint on the musical scene and we love the relaxed and mellow vibes of it. 🤘

not only that, the production on the album is lovely, with expertly crafted soundscapes from the instrumentation, and Shurr’s vocals sound fantastic on this – brilliant work from all involved here. 🤠 from the relaxed and airy opener “Top To Bottom”, the album then evolves through songs like the acoustic ballad of “Never Grown” and then through to the bluesy “The Thread Connecting Us” 🌠 absolutely fantastic range of tunes whilst still maintaining his unique style.

we’ll be joined by the amazing talents of Tallulah Guard Chris Reale Music Conor Evelyn Music and Nat Dempsey! Conor has jumped in for us last minute and we can’t wait to catch his set, gonna be boss. some of Manchester’s finest musicians on the bill!

come on down next Saturday 6th November from 1pm or so in the afternoon, it’s always a super lovely one down at The Scholar. great drinks being served, vegan/veggie food on offer and a top afternoon of live music – what more could you want? Cream of the Crop: 6th November!

we’re super stoked to be involved with these brand new nights each Thursday with Farrow & Friends Promotions down at Hatch!

these are gonna be super lush nights of live music in such a lovely setting over at Hatch – really great atmosphere and some absolutely fantastic bars, food outlets and even more over there. can’t wait for it! we’ve got the amazing Tom J Johnson Music as feature artist for the first one and he is absolutely fantastic

come on down next Thursday 4th November to catch the first one in full – some of Manchester’s finest artists will be gracing the stage and definitely not one to miss out on!

our feature for this week’s Just The Crust is the brand new tune from the North East’s Leopard Rays

their latest song, “Carried Away” is yet another strong single from the indie rock outfit. with lovely guitar licks throughout, driving drums and basslines, matched with a fantastic vocal and quality songwriting, the tune really echoes working class indie tunes of the 2000s it’s a no-nonsense banger that you can belt out at the top of your voice at a gig!

we love the build up to that huge outro chorus, dropping away and building up and up until the finale of the track – absolutely fantastic from these chaps! definitely worth checking the rest of their singles out as well, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them!
