we’ve had some incredible nights down at the Eagle Inn over the past few months for our “The Monthly Spread” shows 🗞️
with so many amazing artists gracing the stage for us, so many lovely intimate performances from the best of what Manchester has to offer – we love to see it, and super grateful for everyone who’s both performed and supported the nights 🎶
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Clear Cut” from Tallulah Guard! 🙌
it’s safe to say we’re huge fans of Tallulah’s music, having had them perform for us a bunch over the past few years and covering a load of their previous tracks, all of which are incredible 👊
this new single proves that Tallulah’s releases can only get better and better, getting into it right from the get-go with a full band sound, with crisp production and a real driving groove to it – opening up for their vocal to take centre-stage on the first verse. Tallulah’s lyricism is direct, raw and honest – a real down-to-earth sense to their writing, and this track not only feels like a real insight into their feelings, but written with expert prose and poetic ability. with anthemic choruses, a real 90’s alternative reminiscence present yet a modern, unique atmosphere, they’ve put out an incredible track that not only speaks to the modern society of today, but directly challenges the status quo in a expertly crafted manner. 🤝
you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a music video available to watch on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHY5oS79UP – well worth checking out! 🎥

we’ve just put out our latest edition of The Wrap feature for you all, with reviews of some of our favourite releases of January 🤘 it’s been an incredible start to the year, and you can find all of our reviews below ⬇️
a firm favourite for us, Black Brunswicker & Old Sun, New Moon just dropped their single “On A Cold Winter’s Morning“! it’s a gorgeous, atmospheric tune, that feels intimate, delicate, a luscious feel behind the track – Tom’s vocal is matched perfectly with the soundscape of the guitarwork from Etta, and the acoustic guitar melody gives a lovely base foundation to the track. the vocal harmonies are fantastic, and there’s an incredible lo-fi element to the track as a whole that really sets this as a separate feeling to the rest of each of their music. well worth a listen!
Barstaff have been taking Manchester by storm over the past year or so, and with tunes like this new single “iZZY“, it’s not hard to see why! it’s an anthemic, singalong tune, that has a real force behind it – the drums and bass in perfect driving unison, matched with an energetic guitar pattern, and down-to-earth, relatable lyrics that paint a real picture of a day in the modern world – it’s a proper belter, and we can’t wait to hear even more from them.
we had Bryony Lloyd perform for us at the end of last year, and her intricate guitarwork, delicate performance and ability to encapsulate an audience really wowed us – this new single “4AM” is a fantastic indication of her talent. her lyrical capability is on full display, the listener hangs onto every word, her story being told in an expert manner, and the guitar melody perfectly balancing to her soft yet fierce vocal. the production is gorgeous, so well placed throughout, building and building yet maintaining the delicate element of the track effortlessly. a lovely listen!
we’ve been huge fans of Toria Wooff for a long long time now, having known her for a good old while – her new single “Lefty’s Motel Room” only reinforces our love for her music. her lyrical capability is second to none, with her innate talent to be able to craft a song that touches the soul, tells a story and leaving the listener wanting more – matched with a luscious guitar picking pattern, and when the production drops there’s a fantastic groove behind it, with drums, bass, strings and more that perfectly blend together to create something truly special. definitely on repeat!
we’ve covered Marseille’s music a bunch now, we love their previous tracks, and this new single “History” is even better than we imagined! mixing elements of Madchester, indie rock and alternative, they’ve got a fantastic blend that makes a sound truly unique to them – driving drums, a grooving bassline, thrashy guitars, and a proper powerful and commanding vocal from the lead vocal – it’s an incredible track that sounds anthemic, we expect these guys to go far this year!
Manchester’s The Be Positives just dropped their latest single “Duty Free“! a real bluesy number, it opens with a gorgeous guitar riff that sets the scene for the track, and with a real energetic drumbeat and bassline behind it, the groove of this track is infectious – with tongue-in-cheek lyricism, it’s a proper fun tune. you can hear so much within this, from 60’s rock, to more alternative elements, that really come together to make a sound that’s truly unique to them.
we had Glacmanis perform for us last year, and their groovy upbeat performance blew us away! they’ve gone from strength since then, and this new single “The Direction” sounds fantastic! it’s got a lovely driving guitar riff that’s complimented so well by the bassline and the driving drum pattern – the main vocal flows effortlessly over the track too, a real old-school vibe to the track but feeling modern and fresh at the same time. we’re looking forward to what the future holds for them!
we’ve known Emma Echo for a good while, and she’s just dropped her second single of her new project – “Let It Settle In”! it’s a gorgeous, delicate track that opens up with a lovely intimate feel, with vocal and guitar matching up so well, and as the track flows, the violin line compliments her vocal melodies effortlessly, and the build of the track to the drop of the drumbeat is incredible, the tune feels so dreamy and intricate, yet shows off her vocal abilities and her innate ability to write a personal yet powerful song. we can’t wait to hear more!
we’ve had an incredible start to the year, with so many amazing tracks coming out – plus, lots that we didn’t get to cover – thanks to everyone who has checked this out, and we hope you enjoyed it! 🤘
