we’re back with our next edition of The Wrap feature! 🤝

we’ve got reviews of some of our favourite releases of April, and it’s been another fantastic month – you can find all of our reviews below ⬇️


Manchester’s own Creepy Crawly has just released the new single “The Tide“! a delicate and intricate ballad, both atmospheric and conversational, it’s a gorgeous tune. with passionate lyrics that paint a real picture and convey such emotion, lovely guitar melodies lacing the foreground and powerful yet delicate vocals, backed with a strong rhythm section providing the foundation, it’s an incredible listen – can’t wait for the release of the full album!


a familiar face for us, Jonny Beer has just put out “Aeroplanes“! following the release of his EP last year, he’s come back with another folk-rock anthem – albeit a more moody tone, it’s got a lovely swaying groove to it, and Jonny’s vocals cut through sharply to ensure the attention of the listener is on his expert wordcraft. his ability to convey a story is fantastic, and this tune is real evidence of his talent!


we’ve caught Kieran Arnold perform so many times now, and we’re always astounded by his ability to create a catchy yet powerful tune – and this new single “Get Away” is evident of that! it’s got a proper 90’s indie feel to it, but with his more modern storytelling and songwriting elements, and his story is portrayed in expert fashion here. with a full band behind him, it’s only elevated his talent and we’re huge fans of his music! well worth a listen!


we’ve caught FLEUR ROUGE a fair few times live now, and her ability to command a crowd’s attention is second to none – something that is evident all throughout her new EP “Wish You The Worst“! with driving basslines, expert production and no-nonsense lyricism, these tunes are quality and provide a real look into her world. she’s able to utilise great vocal melodies, catchy hooks and powerful lyricism to create something that is truly unique to her style.


we’ve had Summerhouse perform for us a bunch now, and we’re constantly in awe from their musical talent – this new single “Reverence” sounds fantastic! it’s got a gorgeous atmosphere behind it, feeling both intimate and conversational, almost like having a heart-to-heart with the raw lyrics that convey feelings and emotion expertly. the full band brings a lovely folky, country feel to the track, and really forms a real foundation to the track – it’s a fantastic listen!


we’ve been fans of Harriet Dagnall for a good while now, having caught her live so many times and she’s a real cornerstone of the Manchester folk scene, her new track “Two Doors Down” only proves her talent even further. it’s a delicate, raw track that not only feels intricate, but also opens up to a gorgeous atmosphere, with expert production behind the track, elevating her innate ability to write a song – her vocal melodies and lyrical capabilities are on full display here. it’s a brilliant tune and well worth checking out!


we covered pyncher’s first single a few months ago, and they’ve returned with this new tune “Space Rocket Simulator“! it’s got a super groove behind it, with the bass and drums working in perfect unison to create a lovely foundation, and with gorgeous guitar melodies, and commanding vocals, it not only sounds fantastic but the contrasts of the verses to the choruses really ensure their musical capabilities are on full display. they’ve managed to create something that traverses a plethora of genres, and the tune sounds incredible – we love it!


we’ve had Freddie Evans perform for us at a bunch of our open mics, and we love his raw and passionate songwriting style, and he’s just released his debut single “So Long, Sweet Summer Breeze“! compromising of two tracks, they’re both two delicate and intricate tunes, really ensuring that the live element is kept within the music, yet adding extra instrumentation and production techniques to give it that studio feel. Freddie’s vocals sound fantastic here, and he’s able to convey his story in adept fashion – it’s a lovely listen and well worth checking out!

The Wrap: March 2025 🌮

we’re back with our next edition of The Wrap feature! 🤝

we’ve got in-depth reviews of some of our favourite releases of March, and it’s been an incredible start to the year – you can find all of our reviews below ⬇️


London’s Too Many Temples have just dropped their new single “Mother Said“! combining grungey atmospheres with classic rock and roll, alternative and blues, they’ve crafted a track that has a real groove to it, building expertly from start to finish – opening with an unsettling soundscape behind the tune, flowing freely with the main vocal taking charge – only to open up into a huge wall of distortion and sound that ensures there’s a proper driving energy continuously behind the tune. a fantastic listen!


Sheffield-based folk artist ROSH just put out his new single “all alive“! it opens beautifully, with a luscious backdrop, the acoustic guitar perfected matched with the violin, and ensures a gorgeous space for his vocal to soar freely within the track. his lyricism is lovely, direct and poetic, commanding the listener’s attention effortlessly, and the rhythm section compliment the delicate nature of the track with ease. it’s an incredible listen and we can’t wait to hear even more from him!


we’re huge fans of Hannah Robinson, having covered a bunch of her music in the past, and she’s just dropped this new track “Who I Am“! echoing influences of shoegaze, dream-pop and alternative rock, Hannah has perfecting combined the genres to create something gritty and dark yet beautiful. with vocal harmonies layering around the soundscape, driving guitar patterns, and a tight rhythm section, it holds together incredibly. the explosion into the choruses is insane, there’s so much energy in the track, a real lovely flow throughout the tune, and Hannah’s vocal command the space expertly – ensuring that you’ll keep it on repeat!


a familiar face on the Manchester scene, indie-folk troubadour The Late Freddie Price has just put out his album “Bohemian Dream“! his songwriting ability is fantastic, his ability to portray his emotion and situation in a poetic manner is second to none. there’s some gorgeous guitar picking melodies throughout the tracks, and the production ensures that each songs holds it’s own. you can hear a bunch of influences within each of the tracks, from 60’s rock and roll, to more psychedelic rock, to modern indie music – and he’s combined them all expertly to create his own unique sound.


a real familiar face for us, Walter Kocays has just put out his newest track “Watch The Road“! opening up with a real delicate atmosphere, the acoustic guitar and violin perfectly compliment each other, and when his vocal comes in, his power and ability is immediately evident. Kocays’ lyricism is raw, personal and honest, and it shines bright – a real talent in the scene. as the track flows, it opens up effortlessly, bringing in other instruments that beautifully compliment the raw and delicate nature of the song. we can’t wait to hear even more!


Manchester midwest/emo/punk outfit Hospital Radio. have just dropped their debut single “Dreaming“! right from the get-go, there’s an immediate drive and energy behind the track, with a luscious guitar pattern forming the basis of the track, and drums and bass that really ensure that the ferocity of the track is in place. Mike’s vocal sounds fantastic here, and really takes command of the track, and the personal and raw lyricism set it as a real standout track. definitely worth a listen and we can’t wait to hear more!


one of our favourite North West acts, Toria Wooff has just put out her self-titled debut album “Toria Wooff“! we’ve known Toria for an age now, and we’re always so blown away by her effortless songwriting ability, her innate talent to craft a track that stands the test of the time. this album is absolutely 100% proof of her talent. balancing influences from genres such as 60’s folk, classic rock, heavier alternative rock, country-folk – she’s combined all of this to truly create something that is an incredible listen and a worthy piece of anyone’s collection. from the delicate and dreamy introduction of “The Plough“, to the country-folk classic feel of “Lefty’s Motel Room“, to the intricate ballad of “That’s What Falling In Love” will do – this will be on our radar for years to come.


another of our favourites on the scene, indie-folk songwriter Bryony Lloyd has just put out her brand new EP “Aerial“! she has an innate ability to create a track that’s not only musically expert, or portrays emotion and feeling in her lyrics effortlessly, but also captivates an audience or listener – really setting her as one to watch for the year. there’s so many gorgeous melodies throughout these songs, and her vocal capability is on full display here, it’s an incredible listen and well worth checking out.

The Wrap: February 2025 🌮

we’re back with our next edition of The Wrap feature! 🤝 with in-depth reviews of some of our favourite releases of February, it’s been an incredible start to the year – you can find all of our reviews below ⬇️


Leeds-based country-songwriter Robin Cooper has returned with his second single “Steal My Night“! After the success of his first single last year, he’s back with a more mellow, relaxed track, that delves into the topic of late-night romances. The story that Robin paints is done expertly, with lovely lyricism, over the backdrop of an acoustic guitar, a banjo and a chilled rhythm section – it’s a great second single from him and we can’t wait to hear more!


Bolton indie-rock outfit The Velvetines just dropped their second single “Breathe It In“! Right from the get-go, it’s an upbeat, energetic tune, with a real drive and ferocity behind it; guitar riffs lace the tracks, and it drops away to a moody and intense verse, but opens up fantastically to the choruses, that have a real punch to them – with the rhythm, guitars, and vocals working overtime to create something that’s got a real groove to it. The bridge is a lovely contrast, and builds expertly to the final section – a brilliant track!


a familiar face for us on the Manchester scene, Charley Westing just released their debut single “Kevlar Shirt“! we’ve heard this a bunch live and we love the raw passion of it, and this studio recording expertly captures that element – with a driving guitar riff that gives a fantastic groove to the track, and plenty of space for Charley’s vocal to take centre-stage – plus, their lyrical ability is on full display here, with a real passion evident – it’s a proper energetic and infectious tune, and Charley’s debut album also came out yesterday! well worth a listen!


Manchester’s indie-folk five-piece Bonfire Tide are back with their first single of 2025, “Submarine“! it’s a gorgeously crafted tune, with luscious harmonies and strings around the track, creating a fantastic soundscape, and with delicate vocals from lead singer David that make it feel more like an intimate conversation with the listener. there’s a real raw feeling to the lyrics, reflecting upon the emotions and moments of a relationship. the track sounds fantastic, and we’re looking forward to hearing even more from them this year!


Manchester folk-duo Summerhouse have just released their debut single “Excuse My Issues“! we’ve had them perform for us a bunch, and their music is fantastic live, and this single really ensures they’re ones to watch for the year – it’s a lovely, indie-rock inspired tune, that has a real groove behind it, and with down-to-earth and relatable lyrics, fantastic vocals, and a real drive behind it – we can’t wait to hear even more!


Manchester singer-songwriter BETS just put out her second single “Bury it in my Neck“! from the start, it’s a delicate and intimate atmosphere, with lovely pianowork complimenting BETS’ vocal ability – the drop into the chorus is gorgeous, filling out the space with drums, bass and violin, creating a bigger soundscape, that feels like it’s evolved effortlessly. the track has the feeling of a conversation with a friend, proving BETS’ songwriting ability – it’s a fantastic listen and well worth checking out!


pyncher just dropped their new single “Get Along“! right from the get-go, it’s got an electrifying energy, with a driving bassline and drumbeat forming the foundation of the track, and with a real infectious chorus, it’s a proper singalong tune – the groove of the rhythm ensures that it’s one that’ll get stuck in your head. the contrast of the bridge is excellent, dropping away to a completely different feel, only to suddenly explode into the final chorus – a brilliant listen!


another of our favourites on the Manchester scene, By Wednesday just put out their new track “Off Day“! we had them perform for us in January, and we’re always blown away by their expert songwriting ability and effortless musicianship, and it’s defined brilliantly in this tune. it’s a more mellow and downbeat track compared to their previous, but the drive and feel of their music is still present – and it’s lovely to hear a different kinda tune from them. the lyrics are more personal and passionate, and the flow of the track is executed effortlessly – a great listen!

The Wrap: January 2025 🌮

we’ve just put out our latest edition of The Wrap feature for you all, with reviews of some of our favourite releases of January 🤘 it’s been an incredible start to the year, and you can find all of our reviews below ⬇️


a firm favourite for us, Black Brunswicker & Old Sun, New Moon just dropped their single “On A Cold Winter’s Morning“! it’s a gorgeous, atmospheric tune, that feels intimate, delicate, a luscious feel behind the track – Tom’s vocal is matched perfectly with the soundscape of the guitarwork from Etta, and the acoustic guitar melody gives a lovely base foundation to the track. the vocal harmonies are fantastic, and there’s an incredible lo-fi element to the track as a whole that really sets this as a separate feeling to the rest of each of their music. well worth a listen!


Barstaff have been taking Manchester by storm over the past year or so, and with tunes like this new single “iZZY“, it’s not hard to see why! it’s an anthemic, singalong tune, that has a real force behind it – the drums and bass in perfect driving unison, matched with an energetic guitar pattern, and down-to-earth, relatable lyrics that paint a real picture of a day in the modern world – it’s a proper belter, and we can’t wait to hear even more from them.


we had Bryony Lloyd perform for us at the end of last year, and her intricate guitarwork, delicate performance and ability to encapsulate an audience really wowed us – this new single “4AM” is a fantastic indication of her talent. her lyrical capability is on full display, the listener hangs onto every word, her story being told in an expert manner, and the guitar melody perfectly balancing to her soft yet fierce vocal. the production is gorgeous, so well placed throughout, building and building yet maintaining the delicate element of the track effortlessly. a lovely listen!


we’ve been huge fans of Toria Wooff for a long long time now, having known her for a good old while – her new single “Lefty’s Motel Room” only reinforces our love for her music. her lyrical capability is second to none, with her innate talent to be able to craft a song that touches the soul, tells a story and leaving the listener wanting more – matched with a luscious guitar picking pattern, and when the production drops there’s a fantastic groove behind it, with drums, bass, strings and more that perfectly blend together to create something truly special. definitely on repeat!


we’ve covered Marseille’s music a bunch now, we love their previous tracks, and this new single “History” is even better than we imagined! mixing elements of Madchester, indie rock and alternative, they’ve got a fantastic blend that makes a sound truly unique to them – driving drums, a grooving bassline, thrashy guitars, and a proper powerful and commanding vocal from the lead vocal – it’s an incredible track that sounds anthemic, we expect these guys to go far this year!


Manchester’s The Be Positives just dropped their latest single “Duty Free“! a real bluesy number, it opens with a gorgeous guitar riff that sets the scene for the track, and with a real energetic drumbeat and bassline behind it, the groove of this track is infectious – with tongue-in-cheek lyricism, it’s a proper fun tune. you can hear so much within this, from 60’s rock, to more alternative elements, that really come together to make a sound that’s truly unique to them.


we had Glacmanis perform for us last year, and their groovy upbeat performance blew us away! they’ve gone from strength since then, and this new single “The Direction” sounds fantastic! it’s got a lovely driving guitar riff that’s complimented so well by the bassline and the driving drum pattern – the main vocal flows effortlessly over the track too, a real old-school vibe to the track but feeling modern and fresh at the same time. we’re looking forward to what the future holds for them!


we’ve known Emma Echo for a good while, and she’s just dropped her second single of her new project – “Let It Settle In”! it’s a gorgeous, delicate track that opens up with a lovely intimate feel, with vocal and guitar matching up so well, and as the track flows, the violin line compliments her vocal melodies effortlessly, and the build of the track to the drop of the drumbeat is incredible, the tune feels so dreamy and intricate, yet shows off her vocal abilities and her innate ability to write a personal yet powerful song. we can’t wait to hear more!

The Wrap: December 2024 🌮

we’ve got our latest edition of The Wrap feature for you all, with reviews of some of our favourite releases in December of 2024 🤘 it’s been another fantastic month of music, and a great way to see out the year! you can find all of our reviews below ⬇️


Manchester’s own alt-pop sensation FEAR OF MARKO just dropped his brand new single “Thorns“! with a gorgeous guitar melody lacing the track, and driving, powerful drums creating a real energy behind the track, it starts off incredibly strong and MARKO’s vocal takes real command over the track, with personal and raw lyricism, only for it to open up fully in the second chorus with a real club bounce with the kick and the rhythm in perfect unison to make this a proper anthem. yet another in a long run of fantastic tunes!


we’re huge fans of Daniel Darley, having had him perform for us a bunch, and he’s just put out this new single “Wondrous Life“! right from the get-go, there’s a lovely atmosphere with bright guitarwork and a relaxing flow, and his vocal capability is on full display alongside his incredible lyrical talent – his songwriting is exquisite, and this track is a fantastic example of that. there’s a lovely reverse (we think!) synth in the chorus, that really proves the production on it – a gorgeous listen!


we love The Memory Club, having had them play our shows towards the end of 2024, and this new EP “I’ve Got Friends That I Love” is a real indication of their musical ability and talent. the balance of raw and real lyrics, vocal harmonies, a gorgeous balance between all of the instrumentation on the tracks – you can tell these guys love making music and they’ve got an incredible run of tunes on this EP. it’s not only raw, but upbeat and energetic, they’ve got a gorgeous balance to it, with a fantastic dynamic – such an incredible listen and we can’t wait to hear more!


we’ve caught Jonny Beer perform a bunch lately, at our gigs and open mics – he’s just put out his new EP “New City, New Strangers“! right from the start it’s energetic, powerful and driving, with a full band sound providing a real force behind him – gorgeous guitar tones, a lovely dynamic in the songs, balancing from upbeat to calm verses; and Jonny taking centre-stage with his lyrics, which are image-invoking, descriptive and personal – it’s a great collection of tunes and we can’t wait to hear even more from him!


Manchester indie-folk artist Creepy Crawly just dropped a new single “December ‘88“! with guitar tones akin to modern folk-rock, and a lovely flowing guitar progression, it’s got a fantastic groove to it, and the drums and bass really accentuate this – feeling like a travelling backdrop, giving plenty of space for her vocal to flow over the top of it – there’s a real sense of storytelling in this song, with a lovely lyrical ability on full display, and proves Creepy Crawly as one to definitely keep an eye on for the future!


we’ve known Paul Sadler for a good while now, having caught him perform alongside his folk-rock trio a bunch -he’s just released his new single “A Song Of Everything And Nothing“! immediately, his vocal capabilities are on full display, holding a gorgeous melody with expert delivery – you can really hear his influence from the heavier genres, but balanced so well into the more delicate sound – and with the strings, vocal harmonies and such, it creates a gorgeous environment for listener to dwell within. such a lovely track!


Motel Sundown just dropped their brand new track “Where The Romans Live“! a real blues-rock style tune, it’s got a lovely guitar riff that echos expertly throughout the track, and there’s a real sense of cool lurking – it’s a gorgeous tune, the vocal harmonies in the choruses are second to none, opening up the track in a lovely manner; the drums and bass only add to the groove of the riff – a proper tune, and we’re looking forward to see what the future holds for them!


Blackpool-based indie-rock outfit Fat Man’s Corner dropped their fourth single “Standing On Top Of The World“! with a real indie-pop feel, immediately opening with a luscious synth melody that sets the feel of the track – the tune flows effortlessly from section to section, really opening up as it comes to the chorus, which is a proper sing-along anthem – it’s a real lovely track that really sets them as ones to watch in the North West for the future!


there’s been so many amazing releases over the course of the year, and a fantastic way to see it out with all these fantastic tunes from the last month of 2024 – plus, lots that we didn’t get to cover – thanks to everyone who has checked this out, and we hope you enjoyed it! 🤘
