Manchester-based Alōr have just dropped their debut self-titled EP! We had them perform for us back in September and were in awe of their musicianship and chemistry on the stage, and we’ve covered a few of their singles, which led perfectly into this new EP. Their singles are a lovely start to the release, and the new tracks sound fantastic – lovely, well-crafted tunes that echo elements of indie-pop, jazz, atmospheric influences that ensure that Alōr have a real signature sound here – it’s a fantastic listen and a superb run of tracks! Well worth checking out 🤝
Indie/grunge artist Daisy Harris just released “Man of the Year“, their brand new EP! we’ve covered Daisy’s music a bunch in the past, and the grungey-songwritery elements really put it as a standout here in Manchester – tongue-in-cheek lyrics, direct songwriting style, walls of distortion and lovely dynamics set this EP as a definite to listen to. with incredible lyricism, personal and raw storytelling throughout the release, and there’s a real diy feel to the EP – it’s well worth checking out and we can’t wait to hear even more 🎶
The Click Clacks just dropped their debut album “Boo!” – another familiar face for us on the scene, we’ve had them perform for us a bunch, their direct and loud sound really sets them apart from the rest. you can hear the range of influences in the tracks, from indie, to punk, to grunge – it’s a real folk-punk album and any fans of the genre should definitely check it out. their lyricism is great here, and with direct and passionate songwriting, this really holds together the album, albeit only a guitar and a vocal throughout! 🤘
we’ve also known Arms & Hearts for a long long time now, having had them perform for us a bunch and caught them at a bunch of gigs – they’ve just release their second album “The Future Is Not Bright“! it sounds absolutely incredible, their delicate and intricate lyricism and vocal delivery perfectly matched to the guitarwork and the drum patterns behind. it really shines a light on the storytelling, and Steve’s innate ability to write a song that paints a real picture – the production on the tracks too is perfect, brilliantly levelled throughout to ensure you’re hanging onto every word, you’re captured in every beat – a brilliant listen! 🎧
Another familiar face on our reviews, Manchester indie-pop outfit Cottons have just dropped their brand new single “old skool town“! It sounds fantastic, a much more indie-rock anthem vibe compared to their previous tunes, an upbeat and energetic tune – it’s still got the tongue-in-cheek, conversationalist lyrical tone that we’re used to with Cottons’ music, and there’s a lovely dream-pop element behind the track with synths, lead guitar melodies in the atmosphere of the track – and with a singalong anthemic chorus, it’s yet another incredible release from these guys! 💥
We’ve known Jimmy Page XI for a good while now, having caught him at a bunch of gigs, listened to his music on the regular and we’re always amazed by his musical output, his commitment to the scene – he’s just put out his new single “Anti-Christ“! It’s a bit of a more darker setting compared to his previous pop-singer-songwriter releases, but it sounds fantastic – with a real groove behind the track with the full band, allowing ample space for Jimmy to take charge of the track, with intricate and personal lyricism, yet still maintaining that pop singalong element that we’re used to – proving that his capabilities are endless! 👊
Sheffield-based Matilda Shakes just dropped their latest single “Frankie“! it’s a proper heavy indie rock banger, direct from the get-go there’s a luscious guitar riff, huge drumwork and driving bass that set the foundation of the track excellently – plenty of space for the main vocal to command, and it opens up into a proper wall of sound for the chorus, with an incredible drive behind it, we can only imagine how great this one goes live. it sounds incredible, and their back catalogue is also an incredible listen too. well worth checking out! 🌙
another one of our favourites, and a band we’ve covered each and every single they’ve put out – the incredible Sad Sells have just dropped their brand new single “Sweet Lorraine“! it’s already had a fantastic reception, nearly garnering 50,000 streams already, and it’s a lovely folk-rock ballad, with a gorgeous groove behind it, luscious vocal harmonies gracing the track – it flows so freely, you can really hear how in sync every musician is on the track. it’s yet another incredible release for them, and well worth a listen – we can’t wait to see what they’ve got for us next 🤝

West-Yorkshire songstress HerOrangeCoat released the second track from her upcoming EP, “Ballad 2 (Skin Off My Back)“! It sounds absolutely gorgeous, with melodic ukulele patterns forming the basis of the track, with her mesmerising vocal drawing the listener in, with raw, passionate and personal lyricism that really shines in this tune. It’s a delicate and expertly-crafted track, with lovely melodies throughout and a real edge to the performance. We can’t wait to hear the EP!
Manchester post-punk outfit Pomona just dropped their latest single “A Man Like Me“! Immediately from the get-go, the track has an incredible atmosphere, with huge drums, driving bass and ferocious guitarwork – and the vocal takes centre-stage as soon as it comes in! There’s a proper groove behind the track, the rhythm section working in perfect unison to keep the flow, and giving ample room for the guitars and vocal to compliment one another expertly – a proper banger, and we can’t wait to hear even more from them!
we’ve checked out Marseille a bunch this year, having heard of them through many different channels, and they’ve been going from strength to strength – the release of their EP “Godiva” here only enforces that claim even further. Winding basslines, chaotic yet controlled rhythm-work, lovely guitar tones and energetic tunes are in abundance here, high-energy tunes that give a real 90’s Manchester nostalgia, and soaring and powerful vocals take control of every track. A proper great listen for any fan of rock music!
Derby-based Sura Laynes just dropped another single, “Let The Good Times Roll“! A real anthemic rock tune, bringing elements of rock, indie and folk to the table, it’s a proper belter. There’s intricate and well-thought-out lyricism, there’s lovely guitarwork, gorgeous bass + drum patterns throughout, anthemic singalong choruses – incredible to hear! It’s only their second single too, so we can’t wait to hear even more from these guys – so much potential!
a familiar face for us, we’ve had The Dove & The Dragon perform for us a bunch over the past year or so, and her delicate, poetic storytelling is unreal – her ability to craft a song is second to none, and ensures an incredible live performance every single time. This EP “The Sun King” translates that live energy so well, with an intricate setting behind each track, ensuring the listener hangs onto every word, where you can bask in her lyrical brilliance – it’s a perfect encapsulation of her talent. Well worth a listen in full!
East Yorkshire-based songwriter Matt Crossland has just put out his newest tune “Above The Clouds“! We had him perform for us earlier in the year, and we were in awe of his quality on stage, and his prolific songwriter ability. This new tune is incredible, his vocal melodies perfectly balanced to the instrumentation, with a huge chorus that’s a proper singalong, proving his ability to create a quality track. Well worth checking out, and plenty of other tunes in his discography for you to sink your teeth into!
We’ve also known Sam Steele for a good while now, with such a unique upbeat pop feel to his tracks, descriptive lyricism that paint such a luscious picture – always a great one to catch live. This new EP “Far Too Pop” sounds fantastic, and translates his live performances so well into the studio, bringing a full band sound, very indie-pop vibes – there’s. real lovely optimistic element behind each of the tunes, you can really hear the chemistry of the band and it’s put together superbly! Well worth a listen!
A real jewel of the Manchester scene, Run Remedy has returned with the new single “Disciple“! We’ve had Run Remedy perform for us before, and her mesmerising performances leave audiences in awe, her lyrical and musicial capabilities are incredible to witness – this new single only proves this even further. It’s got a luscious backdrop throughout the tune, and the slow build throughout the first half of the track is done so well, dropping away to a really intricate and personal contrast – it sounds absolutely amazing. Definitely one to check out!

Salford indie-rock outfit Daisychain have just dropped their latest single “222“! We were massive fans of their debut tune earlier in the year, and this is a fantastic new release from them – the track has a luscious groove behind it, with the drums and bass providing a fantastic rhythm, and the loose guitar melodies give ample space for the conversationalist vocal to really take command of the track – it’s a real lyrically adept track, purveying expert songwriting and putting across honest and raw feelings in a way that’s super enjoyable to listen to. well worth checking out!
we’ve been big fans of Sip Of Milk for a good while now, having had them perform for us a bunch and loving their tunes – this new single “Goodbye, Life of Riley” sounds fantastic! it’s a gorgeous indication of their ability to write a catchy, intricate tune – and the tune sounds superb with a real groove behind it, lovely lead guitar riffs lacing the track and descriptive, image-inducing lyricism – another incredible track from them. we can’t wait to hear more!
we’re massive fans of Alwyn Jones, having had him perform a bunch for us, his debut single was sensational too – this new single “Adjacent” only proves even further his talent. there’s a lovely 2000’s indie rock element behind this track, mixed with intimate singer-songwriter stylings, really combining this to create something that is a perfect soundscape to Alwyn’s expert songwriting ability, being able to convey so much with so little, being able to utilise diction and cadence superbly – an incredible tune!
we’ve known Emily Mercer for such a long time now, having been a familiar face on the Manchester scene for a good few years, and she’s just released her new single “The Record“! with her unique and gorgeous vocal coming right in from the get-go, and her wonderful and delicate pianowork accompanying, it’s a lovely and intimate track, that flows so well throughout, like a breeze on a summer’s day. there’s so many beautiful aspects within this track, percussion, accompanying instruments, that all come together so perfectly to create something so lovely to listen to.
another familiar face for us, Georgia Johnson has just released her debut EP “Bearhug“! we had her perform for us the day before this dropped, and we were treated to some lovely renditions of the tracks – every time she performs we’re in awe at her ability to encapsulate a crowd’s attention and her songwriting ability. it’s on full display here, with so many emotionally raw lyrics, and every lyric has a story, a purpose – the production behind the songs is perfect, giving such a lovely flow and dynamic to the songs, balancing so well to the feel of the track, really complimenting her songwriting ability and ensuring that you’re hanging onto every word of the stories that Georgia tells.
Manchester-based singer-songwriter George Gibson has just released “The Loop” – his second single! it sounds lovely, it’s a catchy, upbeat and positive track, with intricate and raw lyricism – the guitarwork sounds absolutely fantastic, giving the track such life, and it’s a perfect balance to George’s vocal abilities, really bringing out the best in the track – and the drums and production only accentuate the quality of it! well worth checking out!
Betty Kendrick just released her newest single “All These Parties Are Lifeless“, taken from her brand new EP – it’s an incredible track, laden with gorgeous vocal melodies, delicate and intricate instrumentation, and giving her main vocal so much space to tell her tale, so much raw passion put into her lyricism, with a fierce desire to portray the stories that she sings. the balance of the vocals to the harmonies only grows more powerful throughout, a wall of sound that is full of emotion – what a song!
we were blown away by the first release by Sad Sells that came out last year, and their new single “Words and Lies” is an incredible follow up! it opens up so well, with a lovely balance between the guitar and vocal, the latter of which takes direct command with immediate impact, drawing the listener in to hang on every word. as the band comes in, the groove of the track feels so easy, proving the chemistry of the band – the bass and drums are locked in, the backing vocals providing a luscious balance to the main vocal – it’s an incredible listen and well-worth it to any fan of good music!

The fantastic Jack Weston has just released his second single “Dawn Chorus“! The Sheffield singer-songwriter amazed us with his first release, and this new single only goes further – an honest, down-to-earth song that feels like a conversation between him and the listener. The simple nature of vocal and guitar lend to the strength of the track, the expert lyricism that is present in every line, and slight additions of vocals and instrumentation that only accentuate the quality of the song. It’s well worth a listen for any folk fans!
Manchester’s Woioi have just dropped their debut EP “gumreader“! Taking influence from psychedelic, alternative, indie and rock genres, their tracks boast fantastic grooves, lovely guitar riffs and melodies, and a rhythm section that sets the foundation for each tune beautifully. Expect luscious chord progressions, feel-good atmospheres and upbeat vibes – it’s a lovely listen and sure to get anyone dancing about!
Yorkshire-based Fever Dreams have just put out their debut single, “So Naive“! Formed less than a year ago, they’ve made an immediate impact on the music scene, playing gigs, their new single garnering radio play and playlisting from a variety of publications, and this track is evident of their success – it’s a gorgeous indie anthem, with synth-pop tendencies, dream-pop flavours, and a smattering of various influences in there to really create something they can call their own. We can’t wait to hear even more from these guys!
We’ve been fans of The Sewer Cats for a good while now, having known them for a fair few years, and we love their no-nonsense punk tunes – this new single “Boo Hoo!” is yet another in a long line of great tracks from the two-piece. With huge rhythm driving the track, expertly accompanied by face-melting guitar riffs and progressions, it gives a punchy and massive backdrop for Cass to command the listeners’ attention with her vocal, her lyricism as ever on point, direct and empowering.
We absolutely love Black Brunswicker’s tunes, having listened and covered so many of their releases in the past, their gorgeous soundscapes and ambient tones carving luscious atmospheres that you can really lose yourself in. This new single “The Cave” is another fantastic dreamy tune, Ethan’s ability to utilise so many elements and create a gorgeous journey is second to none. The flow of the track is perfect here, so well balanced to itself, feeling like the trickle of a stream down a mountainside – everything perfectly in sync with itself. We love it!
We’ve been huge fans of Hannah Robinson for a good while now, and we love her shoegazy dream-pop tunes – her new single “Blissfully Miles Away” is yet another incredible track under her belt. This single is a real gem, it’s atmospheric, got a lovely guitar melody behind it, a huge chorus that opens up the sound of the track, and a proper singalong. The soundscape is the track, with a driving rhythm section that provides plenty of space for her to sing over, her vocal ability on full show here, and a gorgeous guitar solo to match. We love to see it!
Manchester-based outfit Alor have just dropped their second single, “Older“! We were massive fans of their debut and this track only goes further in proving them as ones to watch on the North West scene. You can hear a bunch of influences in this track, and they’ve carefully crafted a sound that really shows their talent – the delicate vibe of this tune is gorgeous, showing their musicianship of each member and really amplifying the quality and ability of lead singer Ollie’s vocal talent. The track is so well put together, with so many different elements surfacing throughout to really create an incredible piece of work. Well worth a listen!
Another familiar face for us, Sugarstone have just dropped their brand new tune “Body Pending“! We’re absolutely massive fans of these guys, and this tune goes even further than they have before, with so many luscious synth elements mixed with their familiar distorted and heavy vibes – it’s an incredibly dynamic track, so well constructed and a proper singalong and anthemic tune. Their brand of cyberpunk electro-pop is infectious, and we are stoked to hear even more from them!
